My name is Tarnjit and I live in Leeds. I love dogs but I don’t have a dog myself, so any dog pictures are welcome 😀 My favourite pizza is a deep pan margherita, plain and simple! I LOVE watching friends, i’ve seen every episode and can quote most of them. I enjoy drawing and reading in my spare time!

I work at the Univeristy of Manchester, but have been working from home recently because of the pandemic. I carry out research to help make a positive difference!
My research looks at how our romantic partners effect the way our body responds to stress. I specifically look at this effect in people with myalgic encephalomyelitis/ chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), and how stress effects symptoms in this population.

My Typical Day:
I get up before the sun rises, go for a run, and then get my tools ready at my desk to conquer the day! Here, I spend the day reading and learning lots of new cool stuff.

In a typical day at work, the first thing I do is get the boring stuff like checking and replying to emails out of the way. Once this is done, I make a list of things I need to get done that day and highlight the top 3 things I am going to prioritise (this way, if I get any other bits ticked off, I can rewards myself!). Once I have made a list and also my morning cuppa, I dive into the first thing on my list. This is usually something like: reading new journal articles, writing papers, teaching modules, and planning new exciting research to do! When I have finished the top 3 things on my list (and maybe even a few extra bits!) I start to wind down and draft a list for the next day – organisation is key!
